Subject: LONG RANGE IDENTIFICATION AND TRACKING OF SHIPS (LRIT)
We bring you news from the Liberia Maritime Administration.
According to the changes in Marine Notice ISP-003, revision 12/23 all Liberian-flagged ships are required to undergo the LRIT test once every 12 months. This requirement is outlined in section 5.2 of the aforementioned revision:
“Commencing January 1, 2024, all Conformance Test Reports will be issued with validity not exceeding twelve (12) months from the conformance test completion date.”
Vessels with existing LRIT certificate issued prior to 31 December 2023 will need to run an annual test before 1 April 2024.
